Lead vocalist with Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance – North American Tour.

About Ingrid Magee | Celtic & Cinematic Vocalist

Originally from Dublin and now based in London, I'm an Irish vocalist with a background in international touring, orchestral performance, theatre and television.

Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up singing in Dublin's cathedral choirs, including Christ Church Cathedral, before going on to study with the renowned Irish soprano Dr Veronica Dunne.

Over the years, I've been fortunate to perform in some wonderful places and work alongside some extraordinary musicians. I toured throughout the USA and Canada as a lead singer with Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance and have appeared as a soloist with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and London's Mozart Symphony Orchestra.

My career has also taken me to the National Concert Hall in Dublin, Cadogan Hall in London and Dublin Castle, as well as appearances on Irish television and performances alongside artists including Lionel Richie, Chris de Burgh and Roland Gift of Fine Young Cannibals.

Some of my most memorable performances have been the more unusual ones. I performed in Agnes of God in the atmospheric surroundings of the Crypt at Dublin Castle, and sang an improvised vocal piece accompanied by a string quartet at the launch of Mannix Flynn's Call Me By My Name – A Requiem for Remains Unknown, commemorating the women of Ireland's Magdalene Laundries, at Dublin's Sugar Club.

Although classically trained, I've never wanted to confine myself to one style of music. I've always been drawn to the emotional and atmospheric side of singing, particularly traditional Irish melodies, sacred music, film soundtracks and contemporary songs that lend themselves to a more ethereal interpretation.

Alongside my Celtic and orchestral work, I've also spent many years performing internationally as Agnetha in leading ABBA tribute productions, appearing in theatres, concert venues and at major festivals across Europe and beyond.

Today, I'm particularly interested in Celtic, cinematic and classical crossover music, and the possibilities of bringing these styles together in concerts, recordings and live productions.

Another Side of My Musical Career

Alongside my Celtic and orchestral work, I've spent many years performing internationally as Agnetha in some of the UK's leading ABBA tribute productions.

It's taken me to some wonderful places, from theatres and concert venues to large outdoor festivals, including Matala Beach Festival in Crete, where I performed in front of thousands of people.

I've always loved the contrast between different styles of music, and performing everything from intimate, atmospheric pieces to energetic live shows has been a big part of my career.
